This beautiful sterling silver ring, by Rosella Paxson, showcases rich blue Egyptian turquoise arranged into a sweet butterfly with matching Hubei eyes. The form is embellished with sterling details and sits on a sturdy half round spilt shank. The face measures 1-7/8 inches tall and 2-1/8 inches wide. While the 6mm wide fixed (non-adjustable) shank sits at the 9 on our mandrel, it could easily be comfortable on a size 8.5, particularly if you feel suffocated by thicker ring shanks.
Rosella S. Paxson is originally from Whiteriver, AZ but currently resides in Albuquerque, NM. She is a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe on the Ft Apache Reservation. When we asked her about her craft recently, she was very humble, but she said “I have been silversmithing for over 20 years, and enjoy every minute of it... making a piece of jewelry and putting your thoughts of design into the piece you’re making whether it's earrings, rings, bracelets or pendants….it's unique...I am thankful and blessed to have become a silversmith.”
